Tall ship at golden gate bridge

One of the tall ships that sailed into San Francisco Bay on 2 July, 1999. Shot from Fort Point, on the San Francisco side of the bridge. Some people coming to San Francisco for the first time are surprised that the bridge is not gold colored. That's because the water passage between the Bay and the Pacific is called the Golden Gate. The bridge, with its rust-preventing reddish-orange paint, is simply named after the water passage. Photo taken with a Pentax 6x7 II camera and 300 mm Pentax lens.
