Hale - Bopp close-up

Comet Hale-Bopp (1995/O1) was a spectacular sight in 1996 and early 1997. It was discovered in 1995 while still dim but brightened dramatically as it neared the sun in 1996. It had a remarkably bright and wide dust tail (the lower, yellowish tail at 2 o'clock in the image) and a less noticeable ion tail (the bluish streak at 1 o'clock). Having just started my efforts in astrophotography, I wasn't sure what I was doing. However, with the aid of  fairly fast film, I was able to capture this image.
