African (Cape) Buffalo

Observe any small herd of Cape Buffalo and you will find that several buffalo are observing you. These herbivores are preyed upon only by lions and even lions are only occasionally successful in killing a buffalo. In fact, the buffalo herd may turn on an attacking lion and kill it.
