This beautiful fellow was sitting near the barn swallows at the Las Gallinas Sanitary Ponds area. Image with my 100-400 Canon L IS zoom lens at 400mm and tightly cropped. The image below was taken in the same area on April 13, 2005, using the Canon 100-400 L IS zoom at 400 mm with the 1.4 extender.
