The American Coot is not the brightest star in the bird world. But there are a lot of them. The image below was taken in November 2005 at Mackerricher State Beach in Mendocino County. I used my 100-400 mm Canon zoom at 400 mm on a 1D mark II body.
The above image was captured at Corte Madera Creek in Marin County, California, on a cloudy January day in 2004. I used my Canon 10D camera with the 70-200 mm f/2.8 L IS lens with a Canon 1.4x extender.
