Golden Gate bridge from baker beach, San Francisco
Baker Beach is on the San Francisco (south) side of the Gate, just west of the bridge. It's a popular place for beach walkers and occasional fishermen. The land on the north end of the bridge is the Marin Headlands and the distant land with houses seen under the bridge is the Tiburon peninsula (part of Marin County). Nikon camera and lens. Some of the haze in the air is sea mist, some is dust. Coming upon the following poem reminded me of this image. A PECK OF GOLDby Robert Frost Dust always blowing about the town,Except when sea-fog laid it down, And I was one of the children told Some of the blowing dust was gold. All the dust the wind blew high Such was life in the Golden Gate:
