Point Reyes, November 2010 On November 4, I paid a visit to the Pierce Point Road area in Point Reyes National Seashore. While there, I spotted a male northern harrier dancing over the shrubs. He was kind enough to land at the roadside and posed for pictures for several minutes. All shots of the bird with the 500 mm f/4 telephoto and 1Dmk2 camera. The closing shot of the seashore taken with the 24-70 mm f/2.8 on a 7D body. Here is the male northern harrier flying around the ridge with Tomales Bay and the hills on the north side of the bay in the background.
Thinking about landing...
Making the final approach....
Now, which is my best side, right or left?
A view to the south with beaches and Point Reyes, from Pierce Point Road. A partly cloudy, somewhat hazy day.
