Red Rock Canyon State Park, Nevada There seem to be several parks with this name (because red sandstone is a very common geologic feature in the area), so I specify that this is the park near Las Vegas, NV. I visited a few minutes after sunrise but got some sunrise-type light because the sun was trying to break through some clouds in the east. 1
2. A type of yucca that grows in this dry area with a layer of red sandstone in the mountain behind.
3. Another peak with the sandstone layer closer to the top. A tree-like yucca in the left foreground and a choya cactus on the right. I use a polarizer for most of my landscape images to reduce glare and improve color saturation.
