M16, The
Eagle Nebula,
in Serpens

A recent CCD image taken under
very poor seeing conditions. Nevertheless, the astonishing density of stars in
this region of the Milky Way is obvious — we are looking toward the center of
our galaxy through the Sagittarius spiral arm. Additional details regarding the
